Connect an AI assistant

Point Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any other MCP client at Collectly and it can read the public collections, items and collector profiles shared here. The connection is read-only, so an assistant can never change your collection.

MCP server address

Claude

  1. 1Open your profile menu and choose Settings.
  2. 2Go to Connectors, then choose Add custom connector.
  3. 3Name it Collectly and paste the address above.
  4. 4Choose Add.

ChatGPT

  1. 1Open Apps and turn on Developer mode. ChatGPT warns that developer apps can be risky — accept it to continue.
  2. 2Choose Create app, name it Collectly, and paste the address above.
  3. 3Choose Create.
  4. 4In a chat, enable the app from the composer before you prompt it.

Cursor

  1. 1Open Settings, then Tools & Integrations.
  2. 2Choose New MCP Server, which opens mcp.json.
  3. 3Add an entry whose url is the address above, then save it.
  4. 4Switch the new server on.

Any other client

  1. 1Copy the address above.
  2. 2Add it as a streamable HTTP MCP server. A name and the address are all most clients need.
  3. 3Reload the client so it picks up the new server.

Assistants keep a copy of the tools they were given. If Collectly changes, refresh the connector in your client so it picks up the new list.
